Interesting Glimpse of 1950s Casual Bigotry
Wow! What an fascinating trailer - all kinds of racial and ethnic slurs thrown around without a trace of shame, even the "n" word. The casual bigotry of the narration is breath taking. Elia Kazan clearly continuing his fascination with sexual frustration manifested by lots of standing around screaming a girl's name over and over. If one could look beyond the stupidity of the plot (sorry, Tennessee, but "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" this ain't), it might be worth seeing this movie just to glimpse some reflection of social attitudes in the the pre-Civil Rights South.

Im itching!
I have no idea if this movie is as trashy as it looks, but it looks like Karl Malden got some fast money and agreed to do exploitation flicks from now on. This is a pretty amazing trailer. No doubt influenced by Lolita, this picture just OOZES sleaze. Is this movie as half as bad as this trailer makes it out to be? Probably not, but if it is, then damn, I want to see this movie!

Now That's Southern-Fried Trailer Makin'!
Lurid but well-made trailer for a movie that looks lurid, but well-made. Carol Baker plays Southern jailbait in a movie that looks to have every Southern cliché in the book. Still, the trailer makes it look reasonably intelligent, as well as being a dark little piece of filmmaking in and of itself.
Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: **. Weirdness: ***. Historical Interest: ****. Overall Rating: ****.

Now that's a trailer
Maybe a bit politically incorrect. Just try to imagine a bunch of high-school boys viewing this trailer in 1956. IMDB says 19 years old, but the trailer says 17...
One of the best trailers ever.
